Comet Pan STARRS in 2013

Malcolm Neal took the following image of Comet Pan STARRS on the 29th March 2013 from Mickleover. The position of the comet is indicated. The Andromeda Galaxy is also visible in the picture and its position is shown. Malcolm comments that the comet 'was much fainter than I was expecting it to be'. The picture was taken on a tripod with a Canon 50D camera and a 17-70mm Sigma zoom lens set at f4 and 36mm focal length and a 13 second exposure.  Image Cedit: Malcolm Neal.

Chris Newsome captured this image of Comet Pan STARRS and the two day old moon on the 13th March 2013. It is a single shot taken with a Canon 40d DSLR using a 105mm lens with a 3.2 second exposure at f/9 and 400ASA.  Image Cedit: Chris Newsome.
