John Hill captured this image of SH2-129, an emission nebula in the constellation of Cepheus. The bluish-green OIII emission from Ou4, a faint planetary nebula in the centre of SH2-129, can just be seen. John used a Skywatcher Esprit 100 ED telescope with a field flattener, Optolong L-eXtreme dual band filter (Ha and Olll) and ZWO 294MC Pro camera mounted on a Skywatcher HEQ5 Pro. Taken on the 28th September 2025 the image comprises 176 x 120 second subs, giving a total exposure of 5hrs 52mins. Darks, flats, dark flats and bias taken and dithered. Processed in PixInsight with the Ha and Olll being split. Image Credit: John Hill. |
